“It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that I learned of the passing of Marie Kennedy, a lifelong resident of Kingston.  Ulster County’s oldest Gold Star Mother, her son John Senor was killed in action in Vietnam, and a staunch advocate for Veterans, she was a pillar of our community and will be deeply missed.  She touched so many of our lives with her grace, dignity and sense of humor and I had the honor and privilege of having known her.  Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this difficult time.  Consistent with Mrs. Kennedy’s devotion to helping others, her family suggests that expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project. She truly was a special human being.”
