Kingston, N.Y. – Ulster County and local Veterans invite the public to begin the Memorial Day weekend by honoring Ulster County’s Veterans who have made the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of our country at a solemn candlelight ceremony at the Ulster County Memorial Roll of Honor located in front of the County Office Building tomorrow, May 24th at 8:00pm (rain date Friday, May 25th).

The statewide STOP-DWI Crackdown efforts start on May 25th and will end on May 29th. Law enforcement agencies throughout New York State will collaborate and will be out in force in this coordinated effort to reduce the number of impaired driving-related injuries and deaths.

Posted: May 8, 2018Kingston, N.Y.- Ulster County Executive Mike Hein announces that the County will continue its commitment to making recreation accessible to all by installing ADA-approved playground equipment at the Sojourner Truth/ Ulster Landing Park in the Town of Ulster and the County Pool Complex in New Paltz. The County Executive has allocated approximately $80,000 for the purchase and installation of the IPEMA-Certified equipment. Accessible play areas will include surfacing to accommodate wheelchairs, inclusive Alta Gliders and ramps, spring riders, and wheelchair accessible swings.

The awards were issued on April 12, 2018 at a ceremony during the Mid-Hudson Region Enforcement/Prosecution Conference held at Anthony’s Pier 9, New Windsor, New York. The ceremony, sponsored by the Mid-Hudson Region STOP-DWI Coordinators, was held in recognition of those law enforcement officers who have excelled in their region. The Top Cop Awards recognize officers for their diligence in DWI enforcement.
