Enough is Enough/College Campus Services

In response to New York State's Enough is Enough legislation, Ulster County Crime Victims Assistance Program provides Direct Services & Prevention Education at SUNY New Paltz & SUNY Ulster.

The Enough is Enough Sexual Assault Policy:

The adoption of the “Enough is Enough” legislation created a uniform sexual assault policy to protect New York's college students and required colleges and universities to implement a uniform definition of affirmative consent, a statewide amnesty policy, and expanded access to law enforcement.

The Policy Ensures:

1. A uniform definition of affirmative consent on the college campus which requires all participants to knowingly, voluntarily, and mutually decide to engage in a sexual activity for the act to be consensual.

2. A statewide amnesty law to safeguard reporting individuals or those who witnessed incidents of sexual violence to be granted immunity from certain campus policy violations such as drug and alcohol use.

3. An installment of a “Sexual Assault Victims Unit” within New York State Police Departments to offer advanced training to individuals reporting sexual violent crimes.https://troopers.ny.gov/campus-sexual-assault-victims-unit

SUNY New Paltz and SUNY Ulster have teamed up with the Ulster County Crime Victim Assistance Program to expand existing campus resources and provide additional support and education around sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking on the university campuses. With this partnership, students can be assured they have a right to an investigation and prosecution alongside supportive services.

A Crime Victims Advocate is available to meet with students, staff, and faculty members on campus:
